|Timor-Leste Government Officials Participating CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER Training in Indonesia, Starting 4th – 11th of November 2016|

Ten Timor-Leste Government Officials whom in charge of Information Technology and e-Government policy would participate in Chief Information Officer (CIO) Training at Center for Training and Development of Information and Communication Technology (BPPTIK), Ministry of Communication and Informatics (KOMINFO), Cikarang, West Java.
Government of Indonesia and Korea cooperate to organize training on 7th – 11th November 2016, as the part of “Information and Communication Technology Capacity Building Program for Officials of Timor-Leste through South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC)”.
Director of Infrastructure and Communications Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Communication, Republic of Timor-Leste, Nicolau S. Celestino, conveyed that improving human resources competence in the field of ICT is essentials for Timor-Leste government officials to create effective and efficient governance with the use of ICT in various sectors.
“For CIO Class, We had send the officials that need understanding on the importance of Information Technology in government sector, such as Director General, Director and Head of the Unit of Work” He said.
Meanwhile Head of Research and Development of Human Resources Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Basuki Yusuf Iskandar, conveyed that the program expected could expand the knowledge of for participators in government sector and provide insight to participators about the important strategic role of ICT in the future.
“Besides Participants are getting the new knowledge, I hope they could become the main agents in strategic role of ICT at their institution”, Basuki said.
Participants from Timor-Leste would join with 20 training participators from Central and Local Government of Indonesia. The instructors come from various sectors such as Academy, Practitioner, and Indonesia Government Officials that related to development of e-Government.
This program was financing by grants from Korea Republic Government through KOICA in the framework of South-South Triangular Cooperation (SSTC). Besides CIO class, 20 Timor-Leste Government Officials also participate on manager and operator class that was held on 31th October until 4th November 2016.
Meanwhile, BPPTIK is a Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) in Research and Human Resources Development Center Ministry of Communications and Informatics that in charge of implementing training in the field of Information and Communications Technology. BPPTIK was built on grant South Korea to Indonesia and had been inaugurated since 2011.
Since December 2015, BPPTIK through Research and Human Resource Development Center Ministry of Communication and Information, had received accreditation from State Administrative Agency (LAN) as the accrediting agencies for Technical Training Institute in the field of ICT. BPPTIK had held various training and certification of competence in the field of ICT for industrial society, and technical training in ICT for Government Officials. As a training center, BPPTIK has complete facilities to implement the training of ICT, such as Computer Lab, Auditorium, Sport Center, Worship Place, and Hostel for trainee.
